Credit Suisse Asset Management to strenghten its Alternative Fixed Income portfolio manager team

On October 1, 2020, Christian Schmid will join the Credit Suisse Asset Management Alternative Fixed Income team as Senior Portfolio Manager. He will partner with portfolio managers Philippe Wechsler and Armin Bischofberger to develop active investment opportunities in the Swiss franc bond market for a fund for qualified investors.

Christian Schmid has more than 20 years of experience in the field of corporate bonds as well as extensive knowledge of European corporate and financial issuers.

His main activities as Senior Portfolio Manager include daily bond trading , identifying relative value opportunities, and fundamental credit analysis of corporate bonds.

As Deputy Head of CHF Bond Trading at Zürcher Kantonalbank until the end of September 2020, Christian Schmid is responsible for the market making of corporate bonds denominated in Swiss frances. Having previously worked as a senior credit analyst at Bank Vontobel and Zürcher Kantonalbank, he has significant research expertise.

Christian Schmid holds a master's degree in Banking and Finance from University of Zurich. He will work in Zurich and report to Philippe Wechsler, Head of Alternative Fixed Income and Senior Portfolio Manager.

In addition to traditional bond markets, Credit Suisse Asset Management focuses on dedicated markets and alternative fixed-income strategies. This also includes non-corelated trading strategies and active credit management.
