Credit Suisse Asset Management appoints Damian Burkhardt as Head of Swiss Equities

Credit Suisse Asset Management appoints Damian Burkhardt as Head of Swiss Equities, effective January 1, 2023. He brings extensive investment experience in public markets and private equity, in the Swiss and international markets.

In his role as Head of Swiss Equities, Damian will manage a team of equity portfolio managers and analysts actively engaged in fundamental research to find the best investment opportunities in the Swiss equity market, which is characterized by innovative niche players with leading market positions worldwide. Damian will report to Christoph Bieri, who oversees the entire Equities Switzerland team, which also includes Swiss Indirect Real Estate. This team manages assets of approximately CHF 7 bn.

Damian joins Credit Suisse Asset Management from Lombard Odier Investment Managers, where he served as Senior Portfolio Manager for Swiss, European and thematic equities. Previously, he worked as an Investment Professional for BlackRock Private Equity Partners, and for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, one of the largest pension funds in the US. Damian holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of St.Gallen and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Equities are one of the core investment solutions of Credit Suisse Asset Management. The team has investment professionals in Zurich, Singapore and Hong Kong and offers actively managed long, and some long/short, equity products, focusing on innovative and niche investment strategies. The team currently manages approximately 30 funds and 120 mandates with CHF 17.2 bn asset under management (as of September 30, 2022).
