Sustainability

In the long run

Investors, consumers, companies and regulators have rapidly begun transitioning their daily operations, business practices and investments to become more sustainable. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices have come a long way in the last few years and become a premier theme in the investment industry – providing both an incredible challenge and opportunity for our clients.

At Credit Suisse Asset Management, we believe in identifying key sustainability metrics to drive long-term success and change in our clients’ portfolios through our world-class investment and sustainability teams.

Investors launch initiative tackling risks related to the chemical sector

The production and use of hazardous chemicals pose substantial, under-analyzed risks to investors and their portfolios. These risks are amplified by a lack of transparency in the chemical sector, where only modest insights into the portfolios of companies are permitted. We joined the Investor’s Initiative on Hazardous Chemicals (IIHC), which brings together investors so that they can engage with chemicals companies to address the threat of hazardous chemicals.

Diversity of energy supply produces divergent outcomes

Divergence in energy prices amidst accelerated public sustainability efforts is a megatrend that is unlikely to go away anytime soon. Investors should look for funds dedicated to identifying attractively valued companies that are poised to benefit from this megatrend.
